SMART Showcase School
In May of 2008, I received the designation of SMART Exemplary Educator, and I won the Prime Ministers Award for Excellence in Teaching, and my school, Davison Elementary School received the designation of becoming a SMART Showcase School. These designations combined with Davison's status as a CAP Site (Community Access Program) has attracted a lot of attention to our school from people throughout Saskatchewan. On average we have 2-3 people visit our school per week. Throughout the 2008/09 School year we have upwards of 100 visitors. Today is an exciting day because Davison's hard work and determination in the area of technology has received interprovincial recognition. Please click on the blog posting below to read how a grad student from the University of Alberta recognizes Davison's progress with Technology Integration.

How to get a free SMARTboard!
This link is to the funding edition of EDCompass newsletter. A major part of any long-range education technology plan is developing a strategy to pay for it. In this issue, SMART directs you to grants that can help you bring technology products, such as the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and the Senteo interactive response system, into your classroom. You’ll also read about SMARTer Kids programs, tips for writing grants and more. Enjoy and let me know what you think or if you have any success. I am on my way to getting two free SMART boards for my school!
